Is typekit really secure?
Typekit is a large webfonts provider by adobe. Used by many big companies like wordpress, AOL, even The New York Times. Typekit also have most popular fonts like Proxima Nova, FF Tisa, Brandon Grotesque, or Futura PT. I want them all in my own computer, collect them. But only .js format supported to be embedded in a webpage. It's extremely hard to download the font/ view the pure css file that contain font-face ( If Possible ). Maybe, the very-long and compressed .js can be a security reason to restrict anyone to download the fonts inside. I'm sure enough.
Is that technique really secure to restrict? Why typekit don't want also provide the css version like webink do? For speed reason? Of cource no, most of google fonts user use css import or link tag to embed font from google fonts library. It still fast and very nice browser support. About 30 minutes before i wrote this post. Accidentally, i pressed F13 on a typekit user website ( I use chrome ).
I don't know this before. I just found this accidentally. See? Anyone can download typekit's fonts now. Simply right click and Open link in new tab. Font is ready to be downloaded. Typekit will not forbid to 403 Forbidden page.
No one webfonts providers can escape from this
